Fee Disclosure
The disclosure California law requires, published openly rather than produced at signing.
Last reviewed Written from CCP § 1582, State Controller data Everything here is checkable without asking us.
Before You Sign Anything with Us
- You will receive a written disclosure of the property being claimed and its value.
- The fee agreement is presented and signed only after you have received that disclosure.
- Our fee will not exceed ten percent of the value of the property returned to you.
- No fee is collected before the State Controller has approved and paid your claim.
- You may challenge the agreement as excessive at any time.
You Do Not Need Us
The California State Controller processes claims free of charge. You may search and file yourself at claimit.ca.gov at no cost, and there is no deadline for doing so. We charge for handling the work, not for access to property that is already yours.
Notarial Fees
Notarial acts are charged at the maximum fee set by California law. Travel and mobile appointment fees are separate, quoted in advance, and not part of the recovery fee.
